Stepping out of our own frame of reference into these expressions of states of being that are foreign to our own can strengthen our ability in day-to-day life to remain open to opinions that may be contrary to those we hold. Such individual practice may be essential if contemporary humanity is to manage to slip through the needle’s eye of the anti-social Consciousness Soul into the super-social realm of the Spirit Self rather than disintegrate into a tragic war of all against all. In Waldorf schools\, students are taken through these experiences in the 5th grade.
