SUMMARY:Tone Eurythmy Therapy Intensive Course with Jan Ranck\, a Guest Eurythmist
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, August 22\, through Sunday\, August 31 \nIn Rudolf Steiner’s lectures Eurythmy as Visible Music\, he repeatedly indicated that elements of this new art of movement could be effective as therapy. Inspired by the examples he provided\, eurythmist Lea van der Pals and medical doctor Margarete Kirchner-Bockholt worked together in the late 1950s to develop a sequence of exercises in connection with the diseases discussed by Rudolf Steiner and Ita Wegman in their book Extending Practical Medicine or Fundamentals of Therapy. \nThe exercises consist of tone eurythmy in its purest form and their effectiveness has been proven in practice. The 60 course hours qualify as AnthroMed Professional Development Hours (PDHs). \nWhile this professional course is for eurythmy therapists and medical doctors\, the insights it provides into the human being and the deeply transformative effect it has on the participant can benefit and enrich the life and work of artists\, teachers\, music\, art\, and physical therapists\, as well as the student or lay enthusiast. \nJan Ranck is the Founding Director of the Jerusalem Eurythmy Ensemble and the Jerusalem Academy of Eurythmy. Apply by August 29\, 2025! \nESV is excited to announce the opening of a brand new first-year class in September 2025 that is open to all applicants who want to start a professional training in eurythmy in English language. \nFor those seeking to embark on eurythmy as a career\, the four-year program provides a comprehensive grounding in the fundamentals of eurythmy. The curriculum fosters insight into the eurythmic elements\, collaborative work among the students\, as well as a strong one-to-one relationship between teacher and student. \nOur fall semester curriculum commences with an exploration into the basic elements of speech eurythmy and an invigorating block of rod exercises\, surrounded by introductory courses in anthroposophy\, biodynamic gardening\, poetics\, and others that support the first steps in eurythmy. \nGraduates of the four-year full-time training go on to become teachers in Waldorf schools\, therapeutic eurythmy practitioners\, and stage artists. The developmental arc of the training lays the groundwork for a life-long exploration\, new levels of perception and skill\, and the ability to share the healing benefits of eurythmy with others. \nESV School of Eurythmy is part of the Threefold Community\, which is nestled on 140 acres of land\, twenty-five miles northwest of New York City.
