SUMMARY:Listening through the Sacred Silence
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, March 8\, 9:30am to 4:30pm \n\nInspired by the ” listening work” of Channa A.  Seidenberg (anthroposophical music therapist\, lyrist\, and composer) this workshop explores the sacred art of listening through various artistic means.  We will first focus on the lyre tone\, known for its purity and etheric sound to deepen our listening to go beyond tone into the depths of silence.  We will also work with movement\, singing and improvisation to further enhance our listening experience.  We look at this work as not merely a musical or artistic endeavor but as a metaphor for life in terms of how we encounter one another.  It is said that to listen selflessly is one of the greatest gifts we can give to one another.  Our hope is that we can open the door to approaching that ideal.  This workshop is open to anyone who wants to explore listening in a deeper sense as a sacred act of love.  There is no requirement to have any previous musical training.  Just come with an open heart and a willingness to listen in a new way.\n\nAdmission: Suggested donation of $50 which will go to the Christian Community Church\n\nContact:  Sally Willig swillig2@optimum.net or 215-264-7717

SUMMARY:Love in the Light of Mystery Knowledge\, Wisdom and Practice in the 21st Century
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, February 14th\, 8 pm\n\nAnthroposophical physician Dr. James Dyson and actor and playwright Glen Williamson will share from their decades-long friendship and conversations about the new social mysteries of human relationship. They will explore natural clairvoyance and a new etheric clairvoyance in relation to Christianity\, current events\, and the last deeds of Rudolf Steiner’s life\, drawing from his mystery dramas and the endeavor of Glen‘s plays Fire in the Temple and Future Dawning. \nGlen Williamson is an actor\, playwright and impresario.  He recently produced a full-cast production of his new play\, Fire in the Temple\, and has begun performing his abridged readings of Vladimir Solovyov’s Antichrist story. In past years\, he played multiple roles in touring productions of The Gospel of John and Goethe’s Tale of the Green Snake and the Beautiful Lily as well as the title role in Aeschylus Unbound\, which Glen co-wrote with the late film star Mala Powers. He appeared as Johannes Thomasius in all four of Rudolf Steiner’s mystery dramas in 2014\, and his sequel to these dramas\, Future Dawning\, has received several lauded staged readings. Glen has given his one-man performances throughout North America and in Europe. DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, August 10\, 2024\, at 7:00 pm\n\nInspired by attending the  Association for the Rescue of Children conference in Indiana in March\, Stephen Usher has focused his attention on the great challenge of evil in the fifth cultural epoch.  Evil is an enormous topic connected with the awakening of the consciousness soul\, the reappearance of Christ in the etheric\, and the tendencies toward evil that live in all human beings since the start of the fifth epoch.  Stephen will address the inner psychological aspects as well as the larger spiritual questions about the beings that goad us toward evil.\n\n\nStephen E. Usher received his PhD in economics from the University of Michigan where he met Anthroposophy in Ernst Katz’s physics course. He served as a staff economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York\, was managing director of the Anthroposophic Press\, and taught history at the Austin Waldorf School.  He leads a Steiner study group in Austin and has authored many articles about Rudolf Steiner and Anthroposophy.\n\nAdmission: $12/7
