SUMMARY:The Inner Battle for the Etheric Realm
DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED \nWith Cynthia Hoven and Andrew Linnell\nIn this engaging three-day mini-conference\, Cynthia Hoven and Andrew Linell will lead us through eurythmy\, lectures\, and conversation into a deeper understanding of the rightful place of sub-nature in our age and how to cultivate a personal eurythmy practice as a super-sensible etheric counterbalance to the immobilizing effects of technology. \nCynthia Hoven has spent decades teaching eurythmy and studies in anthroposophy to thousands of people around the world. In addition to decades of teaching at Rudolf Steiner College\, she has worked as a eurythmy performer\, trainer\, therapist\, and workshop leader\, and has been a pioneer in developing online eurythmy curriculum. \nAndrew Linnell is co-founder of MysTech\, an anthroposophical organization devoted to realizing the interpenetration of the moral and the mechanical\, past president of the Boston branch. Retired after 42 years in the computer industry where he served as CTO and VP\, his time is now spent with study groups\, lectures\, writing\, gardening\, and grandparenting. \nInformation: Visit this page.

SUMMARY:Renewing the Mysteries
DESCRIPTION:Exploring the Founding of the Christian Community and the Burning of the First Goetheanum\nKeynote Speaker: Daniel Hafner\nMany anthroposophists have understood the 1923/24 Christmas Foundation Conference as constituting a renewal of the Mysteries. Nine months after the Christmas Conference\, speaking to the priests of the Christian Community\, Rudolf Steiner pointed to a sequence from the founding of the Christian Community in September 1922\, to the burning of the Goetheanum at the end of that year\, to the Christmas Conference. \nIn this hundredth anniversary year of both the founding of the Christian Community and the burning of the Goetheanum\, can an exploration of these events help us to understand the nature of the New Mysteries? \nThe keynote speaker is Daniel Hafner\, priest of The Christian Community. He will address this theme with a particular focus on the colored windows of the First Goetheanum. \nInformation\, and to register: Visit this page.

SUMMARY:The Twelve Senses: Sensing Justice in the Encounter
DESCRIPTION:Click Here to Register\n \n\nHow do we encounter justice and foster a sense of responsibility as we navigate the realms of the self\, the world\, and our fellow human beings? How can a better understanding of the working of our twelve senses lead to insights that create a foundation for justice? \nThe twelfth and highest sense is the ability to live into the I-being of another person – for one human being to be able to truly and fully perceive another. An individual whose twelve senses are fully developed could instantly perceive another person’s experience of inequity and injustice\, free from judgment or self-interest. \nIn this conference\, presenters and participants from around the world will gather on Zoom to explore and discuss how awareness and understanding of the concepts of the twelve senses can lead humanity toward a society that is free from injustice in all its forms. \nClick Here to Register\nThe conference is organized around the question of justice in relation to the objects of our senses: the self\, the outer world\, and the other human being. Daily keynote talks by Joan Sleigh (South Africa)\, Dr. Lakshmi Prasanna (India)\, Jean-Michel Florin (France)\, and Michael Kokinos (Australia) bring these leading thoughts to life through the speakers’ experiences in education\, the medical and healing arts\, and biodynamic agriculture. Panel discussions will allow participants to meet the speakers in a more informal setting\, and to engage in open conversation. \nAttendees can choose from thirty hours of workshops organized around themes including “Action and Service in the World\,” “Education and Healing\,” “Justice: A Sense for the Truth\,” “Therapeutics\,” and “Education\, Technology\, and Freedom.” Workshop presenters include Jane Swain\, Richard Steel\, Kait Ziegler\, Carrie Schuchardt\, Jaimen McMillan\, Angie Foster\, Dottie Zold\, Frank Agrama\, and many more. \nConference participants from around the world will meet each other and share their experiences through group singing and eurythmy\, guided experiential orientations\, and open meetups and salon time. \nClick Here to Register\nThe Schedule in Brief\n\n\n\n\n	Weds 8/11Thurs 8/12:Justice and the Encounter with the SelfFri 8/13:Justice and the Encounter with the EnvironmentSat 8/14:Justice and the Encounter with the OtherSun 8/15\n\n\n\n\n	7:30amWelcome & IntroductionsWelcome & IntroductionsWelcome & Introductions\n\n\n	7:45amSingingSingingSinging\n\n\n	8:00amGuided Experiential Experience Becky RutherfordGuided Experiential Experience Becky RutherfordGuided Experiential Orientation Becky Rutherford\n\n\n	8:30amBreakBreakBreak\n\n\n	8:45amKeynote Balancing Selfhood and Sense of Belonging Dr. Lakshmi PrasannaKeynote Feet on the Ground and Head in the Stars Jean-Michel FlorinKeynote Sensing Social Justice - Ancient Ways Michael Kokinos\n\n\n	9:00-11:00amClosing Plenum \nKeynote The Twelve Senses: A Pathway to Justice through Authentic Encounter Joan Sleigh\n\n\n	10:00amBreakBreakBreak\n\n\n	10:45am-12:15pmPanel: Encounters at the Margins\n\n\n	11:15amMeetups and Salon TimeMeetups and Salon Time\n\n\n	12:30pmWorkshops IWorkshops IWorkshops I\n\n\n	1:30pmBreakBreakBreak\n\n\n	1:45pmWorkshops IIWorkshops IIWorkshops II\n\n\n	2:30pmWelcome and Introductions\n\n\n	2:45pmBreakBreakBreak\n\n\n	3:00pmKeynote Sensing Justice in the Encounter: Listening to the Silent Voices Joan SleighPanel Conversation Presenters of the Day and GuestsPanel Conversation Presenters of the Day and GuestsPanel: Meeting at the Intersection of Service and Action in Society \n\n\n	4:00pmLeading Thought for Tomorrow's Theme: Justice and the Encounter with the SelfLeading Thought for Tomorrow's Theme: Justice and the Encounter with the EnvironmentLeading Thought for Tomorrow's Theme: Justice and the Encounter with the Other\n\n\n	4:15pmEurythmyEurythmyEurythmy\n\n\n\n \nClick Here to Register\nWorkshops I (12:30-1:30pm)\n\n\n\n\n	ThemeThurs 8/12:Justice and the Encounter with the SelfFri 8/13:Justice and the Encounter with the EnvironmentSat 8/14:Justice and the Encounter with the Other\n\n\n\n\n	Education and HealingEncountering Myself: Walking in My Own Shoes Connie HelmsSupporting the Senses in a Special Needs Waldorf Classroom Daphna Stern & Gleiçe Paulino da SilvaIn Their Own Words: Experience of Guild Members in New Orleans Caroline Finck\, Laura Mooney\, & Friends\n\n\n	Meeting All Our NeighborsLife Sharing at the House of Peace: Sensing Justice\, Encountering HealingCarrie SchuchardtKinship with All Beings Sharifa OppenheimerInforming Our Work with Adolescents and Young Adults Marianne Perchlik\n\n\n	In MovementSpaces to See "I" to "I" Jaimen McMillanYes/No: Finding Justice in Balance Annette BammerThe Courage to Be Angie Foster\n\n\n	Action and Service in the WorldThe Tree of Life Nicholas LaccettiParticipating in Humanness Megan DurneyBuilding from the Bottom Up Kait Ziegler\n\n\n	Education\, Technology\, and FreedomWhere Are We When We Are Online? SUMMARY:The Twelve Senses Online: A Step into a Human Future
DESCRIPTION:Support The Twelve Senses Online: Donate Here\n\n \n\nThis August\, join us in exploring the twelve senses at an online conference celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of Karl König’s seminal lectures on the topic at the Threefold Summer School in Spring Valley (today Chestnut Ridge)\, NY. \nIn light of present world events\, we see the twelve senses\, now more than ever before\, as a path of understanding that can lead towards healing in our social life\, vitality in our education and personal development\, and greater diversity\, effectiveness\, and integration in our approach to health and healing. In this conference\, participants and presenters will work together to build an understanding of the twelve senses and the contributions it can make to the fields of education and therapies\, and as the basis for a healing social life. \nThis digital conference will be of interest to educators\, therapists\, students\, and anyone interested in finding a direction toward solving the problems of isolation\, fear\, and social and environmental breakdown. The presentations\, workshops\, and discussions will guide us toward building a perceptual capacity for the being of another person – a capacity that is the basis for all healthy social interaction. \nThe deadline to register is Tuesday\, August 4. Click here to register. \nQuestions? Email christa@threefold.org.\n \nSchedule\nAll times are Eastern Daylight Time (UTC-4).\n \nFriday\, August 7: Setting the Foundations\n6:45am Zoom webinar room opens so participants may log in \n7:15–8:30am\nWelcome and Introductions\nTransnational Opening: Karl König’s Encounters in and with America\nRichard Steel\nKarl König’s urgent concerns about the senses came to a special culmination in the US. They are concerns that we should be aware of now\, 60 years later!\nZoom webinar room remains open; no need to log off \n9:00–10:30am\nSinging and eurythmy \nMarianne Perchlik and Brigida Baldszun\nKeynote: Touching – Seeing – Listening: The Twelve Senses as a Path to a More Human Future\nJoan Sleigh\nCan it be that\, in the aftermath of Corona\, the study of the twelve senses is more relevant than ever? Attentive sense perception as a living\, breathing process\, an instrument to building new relationships to the outer and inner worlds through actively observing\, sensing\, and perceiving. \nZoom webinar room remains open; no need to log off \n10:45–11:45am Participatory/Artistic Workshop: Sensing our Senses through Color and Form\nBecky Rutherford\nParticipants will be guided to discover a renewed understanding of the senses’ interconnection through simple art activities. Discussion and sharing will follow. Participants will need a few sheets of paper (8-1/2 x 11” or A4) and crayons or pastels of several colors. \n11:30am-1:30pm Break \n1:00pm Zoom webinar room opens so participants may log in \n1:30–3:00pm Panel Conversation\nJoan Sleigh\, Becky Rutherford\, Nancy Blanning\, and Jane Swain\nClose of Day: Singing and eurythmy Marianne Perchlik and Brigida Baldszun\n \nSaturday\, August 8: Trauma and Healing\n6:45am Zoom webinar room opens so participants may log in \n7:15–8:30am \nWelcome\nTransnational Opening: Working with Living Pictures from Karl König in Trauma\nDr. Lakshmi Prasanna\nHow the twelve senses connect to the life processes and the organs\, and how we can work out of König’s indications for healing. \nZoom webinar room remains open; no need to log off \n9:00–10:30am\nSinging and eurythmy Marianne Perchlik and Brigida Baldszun\nKeynote: Radical Gentleness: An Inner Path for the Experiential Knowledge of the Human Sensory System\nDavid Schwartz\, with Elizabeth Frishkoff\nBecause the human senses are a “sensitive system\,” meeting each other in the realm of the senses with healing forces requires us to take up the path to an experiential knowledge of the twelve senses\, an inner path of radical gentleness. Specific practices that lead to gentleness will be explored\, such as Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent/Compassionate Communication\, the lesson of non-judgment taught by Judith Bluestone (founder of the HANDLE work)\, and the modern eightfold path offered by Rudolf Steiner. \nZoom webinar room remains open; no need to log off \n10:45–11:45am Participatory/Artistic Workshop: Moving Through Trauma to Healing\nJaimen McMillan\nOne often overlooked aspect of trauma is its spatial component. Every traumatic event has an accompanying SOS\, Shift of Space\, which a therapist can be trained to perceive\, describe\, and address. In this workshop we will learn simple movements to help someone begin to re-design their spaces\, their movements\, and their lives\, breaking the reflexive character of trauma. \n11:30am-1:30pm Break \n1:00pm Zoom webinar room opens so participants may log in \n1:30–3:00pm Panel Conversation\nDavid Schwartz\, Paige Hartsell\, Gleice da Silva\, Lakshmi Prasanna\, Elizabeth Frishkoff\, Galilee Manaças Damiao\nClose of Day: Singing and eurythmy Marianne Perchlik and Brigida Baldszun\n \nSunday\, August 9: The Social Future\n6:45am Zoom webinar room opens so participants may log in \n7:15–8:30am\nWelcome\nTransnational Opening: Body and Nature Oriented “Sophianic – Sensory” Spirituality in Aboriginal Australia\nMichael Kokinos\nWays of moving from five senses to the full richness of the soul and spirit in a living body with twelve windows. \nZoom webinar room remains open; no need to log off \n9:00–10:30am\nSinging and eurythmy Marianne Perchlik and Brigida Baldszun\nKeynote: Perceiving Each Other: Embodied Resonance and Human Relationships\nJan Goeschel\nWhat happens between us when we meet as embodied human beings? What are the foundations for our experience of each other’s presence? And how do we work with these processes in a healing and transformative way? This talk will explore how our body as a whole\, through the integrated experience of all the senses\, becomes a sensory organ for the perception of the other. \nZoom webinar room remains open; no need to log off \n10:45–11:45am Participatory/Artistic Workshop: Senses\, Self\, and Society\nHarlan Gilbert\nThis workshop will explore how the senses act developmentally. On the one hand\, sensory experiences can overcome prejudice\, preconception\, and predispositions\, rejuvenating social relationships. On the other hand\, sensory experience can provide a sound foundation for selfhood. We will engage in a series of exercises that open new paths in social life\, and that explore how various senses ground ego experience. \n1:00pm Zoom webinar room opens so participants may log in \n1:30–3:00pm \nClosing Panel\nPresenters\, workshop leaders\, and panelists\, with audience participation\nSinging and eurythmy to close\nConference schedule subject to change.
