In addition\, you’ll gain many valuable opportunities for building connections among a community of parallel colleagues from across the country to carry with you throughout your teaching. And participation in an anthroposophical study undertaken in common with all Grades participants will help enable you to build bridges between colleagues and parents once you return to your school. \nGrade-specific resource materials useful for your year\, including poems\, songs\, stories\, and main lesson book ideas\, will be provided to you electronically. \nNOTE: This course is taught with the expectation that you have a foundational background in Waldorf education. \nCost: $615. SUMMARY:Rudolf Steiner's Cultural Epoch Indications as a Path to Tolerance
DESCRIPTION:A Public Workshop for Beginners and Professionals with Jan Ranck \nFriday\, May 17\, 2024\, 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm \nSaturday\, May 18\, 2019\, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm \nBoth professionals and lay enthusiasts are invited to become acquainted with the styles of eurythmic movement that characterize successive stages of human consciousness. Stepping out of our own frame of reference into these expressions of states of being that are foreign to our own can strengthen our ability in day-to-day life to remain open to opinions that may be contrary to those we hold. Such individual practice may be essential if contemporary humanity is to manage to slip through the needle’s eye of the anti-social Consciousness Soul into the super-social realm of the Spirit Self rather than disintegrate into a tragic war of all against all. In Waldorf schools\, students are taken through these experiences in the 5th grade. Perhaps that is why they are often considered outstanding in collegial contexts! \nAdmission/Fee: $100 \nFor more information\, please email marta@eurythmy.org

SUMMARY:The Life\, Death\, and Rebirth of the First Goetheanum\, and How the Spirit of the Goetheanum Lives on Today
DESCRIPTION:Presentation by Karl Fredrickson\nMonday\, May 13\, 2024\, at 7:30 pm \nOne year after the burning of the Goetheanum\, Rudolf Steiner was asked\, “Why do you keep speaking of the Goetheanum? We have no Goetheanum.” “No\,” he replied. “The Goetheanum exists. It stands before our spiritual eyes.” We will consider the First Goetheanum from its inception\, construction\, spiritual significance\, and the fateful New Year’s Eve of 1922 when it was consumed by fire. How\, during 1923\, did the Spirit of the Goetheanum live on\, leading to the Christmas Conference and the Foundation Stone Meditation? How did this form “a turning point in time”? \nTickets at the Door: $15 \nFor more information\, please email marta@eurythmy.org.

SUMMARY:King Matt The First by Janusz Korczak
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, May 10\, 7:30pm \nSaturday\, May 11\, 4:00 pm \nSunday\, May 12\, 2:00pm \nWhat happens when a 5 year-old boy orphan becomes king? Initially published in 1923\, this internationally acclaimed book is infused with the philosophies of child’s rights activist and hero of the Holocaust Janusz Korczak\, who also famously ran an orphanage in Warsaw. It addresses the importance in the role of the adult to show children how to be; and that children should have a voice and the same rights as adults. Though a children’s book\, the story takes a look at right and wrong\, rich and poor\, those who have power and those who don’t… even the absurdity of war and racism. All this and more from the view of a child. \nA puppet play for all ages. \nGreen Meadow Waldorf School\, Arts Building/Music Room \nSuggested donation: $10 \nFor more information please contact bella@freuman.com \n
