We’ll direct-warp the loom together\, then explore how color\, texture\, and yarn weight talk to each other as the cloth grows row by row. Each piece that emerges will be entirely your own: a record of your choices\, your instincts\, your moving hands. \nBeginners are very welcome\, as is anyone who has woven before and wants to go deeper. The setting is relaxed and communal with plenty of room to follow your own creative instincts. Rudolf Steiner composed the calendar to tune the soul as a companion through the year. Later on he also created eurythmy forms for each verse in variously sized groups. This festival will bring all 52 verses to performance in eurythmy in English\, as a U.S. premier. EANA has gathered groups nationwide (including Canada\, Mexico and Taiwan) to prepare the verses for performance at the festival. \nWe welcome the general public interested in exploring this remarkable progression through lectures\, and artistic workshops in eurythmy\, speech\, painting and plant dying. SUMMARY:Harvesting Late Summer Color: Plant Dyeing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, September 19. 10:00 am-4:00 pm.  \nThis workshop is an introduction to the dye plants and dyeing projects that are characteristic of the end of summer. We will start the day harvesting flowers\, leaves\, and roots from our biodynamic dye plant garden. As we deepen our acquaintance and receive the beautiful colors of the plants\, we feel the healing energy of the plant world. \nBack at the Studio\, we will dye a variety of natural materials with our harvest: blue hues with fresh Japanese indigo\, and yellow\, orange\, and pink from flowers and roots. Participants will also be able to play with some shibori and eco-printing techniques to create unique fabric or scarves. All materials are included- organic cotton bandanas\, silk or wool scarves\, a silk pouch\, and dyes from our bio-dynamic garden: Japanese indigo\, madder\, yellow cosmos\, dyer’s coreopsis\, and marigold. \nEnrollment is limited\, and pre-registration is required. DESCRIPTION:Saturdays\, 10 – 4pm \nSeptember 26\, October 24\, November 21\, December 19\,\nJanuary 23\, February 20\, March 27\, April 17\, May 22\, June 5 \nIn this course\, we design and sew three garments using natural fibers of cotton\, linen\, and wool\, and make a shawl or scarf using silk to create a complete outfit.
