SUMMARY:The Incarnation of the Logos by Glen Williamson
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, January 12\, 4:00 PM  5:30 PM \nAnthropos Presents:\nThe Incarnation of the Logos\nAn Epic Tale of Christ’s Coming to Earth\nTold by Actor and Storyteller Glen Williamson \nA Fundraiser for the ESV Graduating Class’ trip to Dornach\,\nSwitzerland \nThis wondrous story begins with the messianic prophecies in the Temple in Jerusalem\, weaves through many parts of the world and throughout history\, and ends with the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River. Magnificent pictures of the dynamic interpenetration of divine and human worlds are sometimes astonishing and sometimes familiar in this dramatic chapter of the greatest story ever told. \nGlen Williamson weaves this epic from the two very different stories of Jesus’ birth in the Gospels of Mathew and Luke\, as well as from the work of spiritual researcher Rudolf Steiner and theologians Emil Bock and Edward R. Smith. \nTickets at the Door: $20 (regular)\, $12 (students and seniors) \nFor more information\, please email marta@eurythmy.org.

SUMMARY:Midwinter Agriculture Intensive
DESCRIPTION:January 17 – 20 \nAt the heart of biodynamics is the image of caring for the earth and her kingdoms\, as you would for a living being\, that can unfold and develop into an independent\, self-sustaining entity. The animals that live within\, upon\, and above the earth who play such a vital role in weaving together the farm individuality will be our focus. Come spend this festive midwinter time with us in lecture\, conversation\, meal sharing\, and artistic and practical activities. This course is most accessible to those who have some familiarity with Rudolf Steiner’s spiritual scientific perspective\, but is open to all who would like to spend time in community deepening their understanding of the living earth. \nAdmission: $445 (discounted rates available for community members and farm interns) \nMore information contact hello@threefoldcommunityfarm.org or call: 845-352-5020 ext 120

SUMMARY:ESV Ensemble Evening Performance for the Threefold Community Farm Agricultural Conference
DESCRIPTION:A Shovel of Stars Overhead: Where To? What Next? \nESV Ensemble for the Midwinter Agriculture Intensive \nSaturday\, January 18th. 8:00 pm \n“A Shovel of Stars Overhead: Where to? What next?” embodies the longing\, questioning\, and bewilderment that belong to this moment in America\, while asking where\, from whom\, and how something greater can come to be. The program is inspired by the words and compositions of a diversity of artists who poignantly reflect the tensions of their own time. These include the beloved and influential Langston Hughes\, statesman Archibald MacLeish\, the modern lyric Denise Levertov\, and great American bard Walt Whitman. Levertov and other poets in the program orient us to the transcendent presence of the invisible in our midst. Evocative 20th-century American composer Henry Cowell sets the stage\, while contemporary composer Grigory Smirnov threads through the tensions to a quieter\, inner place. The rich harmonies of Sibelius and Chopin weave past into future\, and east into west\, leading us to the grandeur\, purpose\, and elemental urge in Antonin Dvorak’s final movement of the “Dumky” piano trio. Written not long before Dvorak’s maiden voyage to America\, the trio’s changing harmonies and rhythms seem to anticipate the dawning vistas of a new land\, and reflect something of the elusive and vast\, young and surging\, fighting but maturing American spirit. \nTickets at the Door: $20 (regular)\, $12 (students and seniors) \nFor more information\, please email marta@eurythmy.org.

SUMMARY:Working Together: Exploring what Steiner meant by the term “association”
DESCRIPTION:A workshop with Seth Jordan \nFebruary 15th\, 1:30-5:00 pm \nDrop-in Rate: $0-150 \nThroughout his life\, Rudolf Steiner spoke about the need to work together in the spirit of brotherhood/sisterhood. But Steiner was no abstract moralist. He knew the interpersonal difficulties that inevitably arise\, as well as the larger capitalist structures in need transforming\, and he gave practical indications on how to address these things. \nJoin us as we explore — with Steiner’s help — the nature\, challenges\, and possibilities of working together. \nFor more info\, and to register\, contact Ezra Sullivan at ezra@threefold.org

SUMMARY:Parzival: A Story for Our Time
DESCRIPTION:A Course on Wolfram von Eschenbach’s Parzival by Karl Fredrickson\n\nMonday\, February 24\, through Friday\, February 28.\n11: 15 am – 12:25 pm\n\n“Open up! – To whom? Who are you? – I wish to enter your heart. – Then it is a small space you wish. – What does that matter? Though I scarcely find room\, you will have no need to complain of crowding. I will tell you now of wondrous things. – Oh\, is it you\, Lady Adventure?” (Book Nine of Wolfram von Eschenbach’s Parzival) \nIn Wolfram von Eschenbach’s Parzival\, we are lifted to the pinnacle of the High Medieval imagination\, where the bravery and courtesy of men come to meet the steadfastness and gentleness of women. We have the joy of new adventures\, on the one hand\, and the deepest grief and suffering\, on the other. We move between the Court of Arthur and the Circle of the Grail\, from Munsalvaesche to the Castle of Wonders\, from Parzival to Gawain. And throughout the grand knightly adventures\, we find scenes of the greatest tenderness as well as charming moments of humor. \nFor Wolfram\, the world was a soulscape filled with goodness and meaning. As we accompany Parzival on his long and winding journey to the Grail\, we will approach themes of self-discovery\, facing failure and a devotion to ideals that have much to say for our own times. \nAs Laura Freeburn puts it\, “a long engagement with this story will feel like an exhaustive tour of a Gothic cathedral that leaves you spent but filled with admiration.” \nCourse Fee: $100 (regular)\, $60 (students and seniors) \nFor additional information about the course\, please email info@eurythmy.org
