DESCRIPTION:Eight Saturdays: Oct. 3\, Nov. 7\, Dec. 12\, Jan. 16\, Feb. 6\, Mar.13\, Apr. 10\, May 29\n10 am – 4 pm \nThe spinning of thread and yarn was a key factor in the advancement of civilization\, and spindles were one of the earliest human tools. The development of knotted and woven textiles followed\, and spinning became part of the rhythm of life for many thousands of years. \nSpinning remains an archetypal activity; it adds creativity to our knitting\, crochet\, and weaving projects. Spinning is meditative\, requires focus\, and brings great satisfaction. \nThis year’s course will take place on one Saturday a month\, over eight months. We will wash and card raw wool\, learn how to spin on a spindle\, and practice techniques for controlling the quality of the yarn.
