SUMMARY:Are Thoresen: Awakening Christ in Our Midst
DESCRIPTION:Are will address concerns about harmful emissions from devices we use or are exposed to every day. By finding the mid- or Christ-point in such objects\, we can then activate the Christ force that exists in the world even within such technological devices. (Later\, you can try this\, for instance\, on your cell phone.) This activation serves to lessen a device’s pathological effects. \nAre may consider questions like this with us: Can this method be used to mitigate the electromagnetic radiation of 5G transmitters? Is there a way to release demons or elementals that have been trapped by technology? Should the elementals be considered when we use solar power? \nAre Thoresen\, MVD\, will explore insights into the Three Elemental Realms that he gained while incapacitated by Covid in 2020. Since 1981\, Are has operated a holistic private veterinary practice in Sandefjord\, Norway. He has also trained in acupuncture\, homeopathy\, and anthroposophical medicine. He has published over 25 papers and 10 books and given lectures and workshops about his research at various venues including MysTech conferences. Are’s current research has focused on Vidar and Balder\, who stand as guardians to the threshold of the outer etheric world to open the Northern Way of Initiation. His research covers the Vidar-school as a continuation of the Michael-school\, the Christianization of bio-dynamic agriculture\, and the individual qualities of the Three Elemental Realms. In his works\, Are explores human potential for spiritual knowledge and new spiritual experiences in our time. \nLecture: Friday\, August 19\, 7:30pm \nWorkshop: Saturday\, August 20\, 9:00am-12:00pm \nAdmission: $12 for the Friday lecture\, or $75 for the Friday lecture and Saturday workshop. \nOnline advance ticket sales are closed\, but walk-ups are welcome at Brookside. \nInformation: Contact Christa Lynch at christa@threefold.org

SUMMARY:Summer Refresher Courses for Eurythmists
DESCRIPTION:Eurythmy Spring Valley is delighted to offer two weeks of pedagogy for professional eurythmists on our campus in August 2022\, embedded in our pedagogical training courses. Each course week will provide a different pedagogical focus and content for participants. \nIn Week One\, you are invited to join Patti Regan\, elementary grades eurythmy teacher at the Berkshire Waldorf School\, as she brings a rich review and immersion into teaching eurythmy in early childhood through eighth grade. Our evenings will include a study of pedagogical themes and how to work with them in our teaching. \nIn Week Two\, the course offerings will focus on eurythmy for grades eight through twelve. Please join Alexandra Spadea\, high school eurythmy teacher at Rudolf Steiner School\, New York City\, and other faculty to be announced\, for this exploration of the curriculum and ways of working with this age group. The above evening studies will continue. \nEach course will provide a review of pedagogical forms and their relevance for the period of childhood being studied\, as well as themes from the curriculum\, especially adaptable for use in eurythmy. Beyond the work on this year’s themes within the eurythmy curriculum and child development\, we will also have time to share materials with one another and discuss topics of current concern and interest. If participants have a eurythmy solo to share\, it would be lovely to make time for sharing artistic work with one another. \nWe are holding these pedagogical courses for ESV students in training\, but have found that it enriches the courses for everyone to have practicing teachers join the ongoing training as Refresher courses. So all are welcome! \nInformation\, and to register: Visit this page.

SUMMARY:Renewing the Mysteries
DESCRIPTION:Exploring the Founding of the Christian Community and the Burning of the First Goetheanum\nKeynote Speaker: Daniel Hafner\nMany anthroposophists have understood the 1923/24 Christmas Foundation Conference as constituting a renewal of the Mysteries. Nine months after the Christmas Conference\, speaking to the priests of the Christian Community\, Rudolf Steiner pointed to a sequence from the founding of the Christian Community in September 1922\, to the burning of the Goetheanum at the end of that year\, to the Christmas Conference. \nIn this hundredth anniversary year of both the founding of the Christian Community and the burning of the Goetheanum\, can an exploration of these events help us to understand the nature of the New Mysteries? \nThe keynote speaker is Daniel Hafner\, priest of The Christian Community. He will address this theme with a particular focus on the colored windows of the First Goetheanum. \nInformation\, and to register: Visit this page.

SUMMARY:The Twelve Steps – a Spiritual Path
DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, Bill Kelly will focus on the Twelve Steps as a spiritual program\, outlining the steps with a focus on their requirement for the individual’s willingness\, service to others\, and and persistent striving to improve their conscious contact with God. \nAs a Waldorf teacher\, business person\, and wood worker\, Bill has struggled for decades to understand and put into practice the ideas put forth in Dr. Steiner’s Philosophy of Freedom. He believes that the Twelve Steps reflect a pathway that can help one actualize the spiritual transformation that Rudolf Steiner outlines in his seminal work in Spiritual Science\, and will let the audience draw their own parallels.
