SUMMARY:"Back to Basics!"
DESCRIPTION:A Professional Workshop for Eurythmists with Dorothea Mier\nDorothea Mier will share some gems from recently released 19 videos in German of Carina Schmidt’s experiences working with Lory Maier Smits. Many of you will remember her visit at Eurythmy Spring Valley a number of years ago. Of course\, Carina’s lively presence will be missing\, but Dorothea is so inspired by what Carina imparts\, and feels that all eurythmists could benefit from these insights for deepening our work with eurythmy. \nInformation\, and to register: Fee: $50. Places in this workshop are limited\, and preregistration is required. Please visit this page.

SUMMARY:Our Experience of Nature in Spring
DESCRIPTION:Three Views of Our Landscape with Kenneth Melia\nMarch 19\, April 23\, May 21\nPatterns of opening\, expansion\, pollination\, metamorphosis are happening right in front of us. We will combine a very close observation of the details with a larger perspective of the structure and pattern of the whole organism and even how it is a part of a distinct ecosystem. \nBecause weather will influence our activities\, the theme and site for each event will be based on what is most interesting and dynamic on that particular day. We will visit three sites in all. There will be a combination of individual and group activities. \nKenneth Melia has worked for forty years as a natural science teacher and outdoor educator with high school students and adults in four countries. He lives at the Fellowship Community. \nAdmission is free\, registration is required. Contact Melissa Lyons at 845-519-5386 or meliska.lyons@gmail.com. Please note\, space is limited.

SUMMARY:Spring Eurythmy Evening
DESCRIPTION:The Eurythmy Spring Valley Ensemble has been working on the beginnings of an evening program and also a children’s program. We will share a mixture of these pieces in March\, among them may be: Chaconne in G Major\, the theme and some variations by Händel\, with a very precious form by Lea van der Pals\, and Impromptu No. 5 in B minor by Jean Sibelius. We are also working on a Grimm’s fairy tale\, which may be ready to see the light of day in March. \nSince the Studio Program was postponed in January\, there are also quite a few solos to round out the program: the first part of Chopin’s Ballade No. 3\, Romance by Schumann\, poetry by Rilke\, a cello and piano duo by Beethoven\, Sarabande by Bach\, to name just a few. \nSeating is limited and tickets must be purchased in advance. \nInformation\, and to purchase tickets: Please visit this page.

SUMMARY:“Where Two or More Are Gathered . . . ” with Sea-Anna Vasilas
DESCRIPTION:How can eurythmy be a way to create community\, communication\, and collaboration? This series of four one-hour workshops (March 3\, 10\, 17\, and 24\, 9:45-10:45am) is a celebration of the many “two’s” of our new year through exploring the possibilities of eurythmy in the spaces in-between\, for two — or more. We will explore duet forms\, mirror forms\, and rod exercises for two. Bring a friend or find one here! \nSea-Anna Vasilas has been a member of the Eurythmy Spring Valley Ensemble since 2011\, and of the School of Eurythmy faculty since 2012. She teaches First- and Second-Year tone eurythmy\, the part-time Frontier Training\, and public courses.\n\nInformation\, and to register: Visit this page. Preregistration is required.

SUMMARY:Human Evolution Course with Michael Judge
DESCRIPTION:This course will compare\, contrast\, and translate the many concepts regarding evolution. The goal of the course is to demonstrate coherence and plausibility between the evolutionary descriptions of spiritual science and natural science. The geologic record and the akasha record as researched by Rudolf Steiner will be called upon. The focus will be upon the human being in greater context\, but more specifically on Steiner’s esoteric concepts of the evolutionary phases of the “Lemurian\,” the “Atlantean\,” and the “Post-Atlantean.” Also\, some reflections on eurythmy’s important future contributions to evolution will be touched upon. \nMichael Judge is a graduate of the University of Maryland\, where he studied history\, archeology\, anthropology\, and geology. He has earned certification in education\, Waldorf education\, and spacial dynamics. He has been a student of anthroposophy and spiritual science for over forty years. \nInformation\, and to register: Visit this page. Preregistration is required.

SUMMARY:Speech Chorus: The Foundation Stone Meditation
DESCRIPTION:With Jennifer Kleinbach\nIt is said that all of anthroposophy can be found within Rudolf Steiner’s monumental verse\, the Foundation Stone Meditation. The year is divided into three terms: \n\nWinter/Spring: Feb 25/26\, Mar 25/26\, Apr 22/23\, May 27/28\nSummer: Jun 24/25\, Jul 22/23\, Aug 26/27\nFall: Sep 23/24\, Oct 28/29\, Nov 25/26\, and Dec 23/24\n\nThis is a year-long project. New participants can join in January\, June\, and September. \nFee: By donation. \nInformation\, and to register: Contact Jennifer Kleinbach at jennykbach@gmail.com.

SUMMARY:The Karma of Covid: Covid and Medical Technology
DESCRIPTION:With Harlan Gilbert\nThe second of three lecture/workshops. Please note: This workshop was previously scheduled for November 9\, 2021. \nThe current pandemic is having dramatic repercussions on nearly every individual living today. It constitutes a major intrusion into world and individual destiny. In three evening workshops\, we will explore the questions: Why a global pandemic\, why this one\, and why now? \nEach workshop will include a lecture\, group discussion\, and Q&A. \nThere is a long history of measures taken to combat disease. (February 15). \nHarlan Gilbert holds a Waldorf teaching certificate from Emerson College\, an MS in education from Sunbridge College\, and a PhD in transformative studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Since 2003\, he has taught mathematics\, computer science\, and philosophy at Green Meadow Waldorf School. He has published a book on child development and pedagogy as well as many articles considering technology and other themes from an anthroposophic point of view. \nAdmission\nLivestream Series Pass: $50 / $30 seniors and students.
