SUMMARY:Therapeutic Eurythmy Course with Raven Garland
DESCRIPTION:In Eurythmy as Visible Singing\, Rudolf Steiner said that in earlier times\, the musical element itself was recognized as a means of healing. Because the musical element comes especially to the fore in eurythmy\, so the therapeutic forces of the musical element must also come to the fore with efficient therapy. \nParticipants in this workshop will experience how the elements of music and tone eurythmy can remind us of our wholeness as individuals and in relation to each other. No experience is necessary. This class is open to all. \nRaven Garland is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts (MA Music)\, Eurythmy Spring Valley\, and the Therapeutic Eurythmy Training of North America. She teaches eurythmy at the Wasatch Waldorf Charter School in Salt Lake City\, UT\, and she is adjunct faculty at TETNA\, the graduate eurythmy training in therapeutic eurythmy. \nInformation\, and to register: Visit this page.

SUMMARY:Conscious Beekeeping
DESCRIPTION:Practical Organic Approaches for Healthy Bees and Growing ApiariesWith Bill Day\nIn this special half-day workshop\, we will review the basics of how to create conditions in which our bees can thrive\, including hive location\, forage\, managing Varroa\, and deterring bears. Then we’ll cover essential springtime tasks: Assessing hive strength\, recognizing problems\, supering\, and making splits. Weather permitting\, we’ll spend much of the morning at the hives in the Pfeiffer Center garden. \nBring your questions and observations! There will be ample time for discussion. \nBonus afternoon session: After lunch\, you are welcome to join us for an optional walk to one of the bee yards on the farm for an open conversation and demonstration. \nBill Day cares for the Pfeiffer Center’s 25-hive apiary and conducts beekeeping workshops for the Pfeiffer Center and at PASA’s annual winter conference. He has kept bees following biodynamic principles for about fifteen years. \nInformation\, and to register: Visit this page.

SUMMARY:The Merry Month of May: Public Eurythmy Course with Sea-Anna Vasilas
DESCRIPTION:Four Thursday Mornings: May 5\, 12\, 19\, and 26\nEurythmy is a health-giving\, harmonizing\, and life-sustaining art of movement that works through the whole human being. In making visible the invisible and inaudible experiences of speech and music\, eurythmy serves as a bridge between spirit and matter. Through harmonious movement\, we connect with the abundant life forces available within and around us\, allowing for a rhythmic and breathing encounter with ourselves and the world. \nSpringtime flowers and birdsong call for lively\, joyful movement . . . . Please join us for our last public course of the school year: a four week series in the merry month of May! \nInformation\, and to register: Visit this page.

SUMMARY:Our Experience of Nature in Spring
DESCRIPTION:Three Views of Our Landscape with Kenneth Melia\nMarch 19\, April 23\, May 21\nPatterns of opening\, expansion\, pollination\, metamorphosis are happening right in front of us. We will combine a very close observation of the details with a larger perspective of the structure and pattern of the whole organism and even how it is a part of a distinct ecosystem. \nBecause weather will influence our activities\, the theme and site for each event will be based on what is most interesting and dynamic on that particular day. We will visit three sites in all. There will be a combination of individual and group activities. \nKenneth Melia has worked for forty years as a natural science teacher and outdoor educator with high school students and adults in four countries. He lives at the Fellowship Community. \nAdmission is free\, registration is required. Contact Melissa Lyons at 845-519-5386 or meliska.lyons@gmail.com. Please note\, space is limited.
