SUMMARY:Harvesting Late Summer Color: Plant Dyeing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, September 19. 10:00 am-4:00 pm.  \nThis workshop is an introduction to the dye plants and dyeing projects that are characteristic of the end of summer. We will start the day harvesting flowers\, leaves\, and roots from our biodynamic dye plant garden. As we deepen our acquaintance and receive the beautiful colors of the plants\, we feel the healing energy of the plant world. \nBack at the Studio\, we will dye a variety of natural materials with our harvest: blue hues with fresh Japanese indigo\, and yellow\, orange\, and pink from flowers and roots. Participants will also be able to play with some shibori and eco-printing techniques to create unique fabric or scarves. All materials are included- organic cotton bandanas\, silk or wool scarves\, a silk pouch\, and dyes from our bio-dynamic garden: Japanese indigo\, madder\, yellow cosmos\, dyer’s coreopsis\, and marigold. \nEnrollment is limited\, and pre-registration is required.
