SUMMARY:Rudolf Steiner's World Economics - A Study in Thinking and Practice
DESCRIPTION:The current world situation is affecting all areas of our lives\, and creating opportunities to change our thinking and our actions. As Rudolf Steiner recognized\, the beginning of modern economic life coincided with the reduction in our ability to think about economics in its true complexity. The aim of this study group is to move towards thinking in a way that can grasp economic ideas\, and to begin to practice these ideas in our lives. We will take up the lectures given by Rudolf Steiner in the summer of 1922 (GA 340).  \nThe first part of each meeting will be devoted to study of the text\, trying to think the thoughts\, to bring them into reality within us.  This will be followed by discussion of how these thoughts affect our actual individual lives. This will also be an opportunity each week to create a concrete way to practice an idea from the study during the coming week\, and to share our experiences. All are welcome. \nThis study group will meet weekly beginning on Sunday\, August 2. \nPlease read Lecture 1 before the first session.

Due to restrictions imposed on national borders and honoring the request of health officials to stay home we will no longer be meeting in Spring Valley\, New York for this Seminary Extension course. However\, it has never felt more important to focus in on this theme\, this deep goal of humanity. \nWe are now in the process of creating a week-long program that you can participate in from home. This will likely involve personal practices of devotional gospel reading\, meditation\, prayer\, artistic practice prompts\, online presentations through which we will explore the theme of the beloved community. This ideal\, which longs to find expression among human beings and which touches every human heart\, will be the center of our focus for the week. Together we will seek for the ideal of Philadelphia\, work with living images in the Gospels and beyond\, and explore helpful practices. DESCRIPTION:Workshop with Stephanie Georgieff\nMary Magdalen was known as the Apostle of the Apostles as well as the female Patron Saint of Medieval Pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. Her earthly existence and example is a model for the Divine Feminine as a vital gesture in the co-creation of a new cosmos of love. This series of talks will explore the art\, myth\, history and influence of the individual who witnessed the entire Christ Event and the founding of the Christ Movement in Palestine and Europe. Magdalen has deep messages on the next phase of the unfolding Christ mystery for our age and beyond. \nStephanie Georgieff is an author and speaker on various aspects of the Divine Feminine and Esoteric Christianity. She has recently returned to North America after serving in the United States Peace Corps in Albania. She has published two books\, and hosts a podcast. SUMMARY:Sung Pageant for Epiphany: Introduction and Open Rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:A year from now\, we hope to begin preparing for the 2021 Three Kings Pageant. In German called a “Singspiel\,” or a sung play\, this pageant is a very simple yet moving tableau of the Three Kings as they travel with their pages and bring their gifts to the Christ Child. Next year we will need a cast of ten singers\, but this year anyone interested in becoming acquainted with the play and learning the songs is very warmly welcome. This first get-to-know-you rehearsal\, led by Jennifer Kleinbach\, will be preceded by words of introduction by Franziska Hesse.
