First Class Lesson Research Colloquium
Exploring New Forms of Working
– Blue Card holders only –

Threefold Foundation,
Chestnut Ridge, NY,
August 17-19th

This August 17-19th, Threefold Foundation invites Claus-Peter Roeh to lead a Research Colloquium on new forms of holding the First Class Lessons of the Michael School. Over two days we will develop our understanding of Class Lesson Six in different ways: a free holding (rendering), Eurythmy performances as introductions to class work, a Eurythmy workshop, a visual arts workshop, and a class conversation. These preparations will lead to a Class Lesson on the final day which will be given with the responsibility of all members present, a “free group holding” in a circle. The intention for the free group holding is to better utilize the cognitive ritual, given as the cultus of the Anthroposophical Society, in the First Class of the Michael School.

We ask all participants to live with the turning points and counter movements of the sixth lesson before and to bring questions into the work of the colloquium.

A health-forward vegetarian-leaning menu with some responsibly-sourced meat options, The majority of meals will be gluten-free (or there will be gluten-free options) and will always have dairy-free and vegan options too. In general, we will be minimizing certain foods – less reliance on pulses (beans) and nightshades – although some summer tomatoes will be used! We will be exploring a playful approach to some of the meals – think summer picnics rather than more formal dinners!
