Sheep to Yarn – An Experience of Fiber Transformation – Three classes total
Dates & Times:
Saturday, January 27: 9am – 3pm
Saturday, February 24: 9am – 3pm
Saturday, March 16: 9am – 3pm
Over the course of three workshops this winter and spring, develop new skills and enliven your creative capacities in the company of fiber artists.
Starting with the fleece of two distinctive breeds of sheep – Jacob, Shetland – we will experience a transformative process from sheep to yarn through studying, washing, carding, spinning, and weaving. Working with natural fibers, with time-honored tools and techniques guiding the pace of our work and drawing us into an intimate relationship with our materials, we will find new meaning in these traditional fiber crafts.
