Fiber Craft Studio: Connecting with Local Farms

Loading Events

Today, we all have sources for beautiful yarns from all over the world. But as we at the studio have learned about the large global footprint of the textile industry, we developed the wish to cultivate relationships with local sources for fiber. There is a movement to build a network of resources in the realm of textiles similar to the local food movement.

Over the years, through the Sheep and Wool festival in Rhinebeck, through our own research, and just through good fortune we have made some wonderful connections. We would like to share some of our resources with you and look together at the fibers that they offer.

Chris Marlow has been Co-Director of the Fiber Craft Studio since 2012. Before that, she was a lower school handwork teacher at Green Meadow Waldorf School for fifteen years, and taught for two years at a charter school in New York City, the West Side Community School.

This free event will take place on Zoom. We will email you the link couple of days before the event.
