A Four-Year, Part-Time, In-Person Professional Training for Teachers of Handwork

13th Cycle Starts February 26, 2024

From an early age, children’s hands become ready to make beautiful, useful things as their abilities evolve and develop. Learning how to bring these wonderful experiences to children in ways that are grounded in real knowledge of child development is at the heart of the Applied Arts Program.

Though presented primarily in the context of Waldorf education, the program is equally beneficial for teachers in all kinds of schools, including homeschool settings.

The program meets for two weeks each summer and one week each winter, covering two grades each year. Subjects covered include: Basic Foundations of Anthroposophy; Child Development and Waldorf Education; Handwork Curriculum and Waldorf Pedagogy; Fine Arts; Fiber Crafts; plus supplemental activities designed to foster personal and professional development.
