The mission of the Youth House is to renew Anthroposophy into a meaningful, legible, and practical movement for today.

Anthroposophy is a path of knowing source wisdom. Anthroposophy’s mission is to support the human soul through initiation. Initiation is a path of self-knowledge in which knowledge becomes wisdom through the birth of the true self, love. The process of initiation prepares the individual to give more and more in freedom and service to justice. Justice is the human soul finding a place to return. Justice is the day after a long night. The greatest injustice, the ultimate conspiracy, that humanity faces today is materialism.

Beginning September 2025, Threefold invites young adults to participate in a transformative residential experience in the Lower Hudson Valley of New York State.

The Youth Co-Lab rethinks how society could reflect the nobility of the human soul.

The program is structured around three interconnected pillars:

  1. Study: Developing an inner capacity for meaning
  2. Initiative: Creating projects that address contemporary challenges
  3. Service: Grounding wisdom in practical community engagement

Study

Study empowers us to develop our understanding and inner life, to become better stewards of our individual potential for world-becoming.

  • Co-creative learning: conversation-based study sessions centered around texts by Rudolf Steiner or related to Anthroposophy
  • Contemplative practices: meditation, perception exercises, and artistic studio work
  • Visiting faculty: experienced practitioners as learning companions
  • Dynamic curriculum: a flexible pedagogical approach incorporating the foundations of esotericism and the needs of individuals in the moment

Initiative

The heart of the Co-Lab lies in creating new forms for societal transformation. The program supports the unique initiative of each resident, as well as providing projects for the Co-Lab team to accomplish together. We do this through:

  • Identifying where our personal gifts meet the world’s needs
  • Peer to peer collegial support
  • Community Feedback through regular sharing opportunities with the wider community
  • Network Amplification across the Global Youth Section Network

Service

Service grounds esoteric study in practical reality while developing capacities for collaboration, resourcefulness, and discipline. Projects include:

  • Biodynamic farming
  • Landscaping, groundskeeping
  • Demolition!
  • Elder care in the Fellowship Community
  • Cleaning in Holder House
  • Entrepreneurship in artisan crafts (pottery, weaving, candlemaking, woodwork)
  • Land art projects involving masonry and carpentry

Cost

  • The Co-Lab Program is free
  • Housing is included in private rooms, with shared kitchen/bathroom
  • Food costs will be partially covered through service work and program fundraising

Applications

Residents are accepted on a rolling basis, each with their own individual commitment period.

Support

We are currently seeking co-investment from groups and individuals with an abundance of resources so that young adults can find anthroposophy regardless of their socio-economic context. Together, we can create the conditions for a new generation of spiritually awakened, practically skilled, and socially engaged young people to lead us forward
