Harvesting Fall Colors: Plant Dyeing with Miho Suzuki

Loading Events

At the end of summer we harvest dye plants from nature and from our biodynamic garden. We then create yellow and orange from flowers, red from roots, and purple from berries, and apply them to our prepared natural fibers.

In this workshop we will use silk, linen, and cotton fabric that has been prepared and will be ready for dyeing. We will create dye pots and explore techniques of shibori to experience the wonder of plant and fiber transformation. Participants will take home a small silk pouch, a cotton drawstring bag, linen fabric, and wool yarn.

Fee: $110 (includes materials)
