With Miho Suzuki
10:00am-3:00pm on 3 Saturdays: February 25, March 11 & 25
Over the course of three workshops this winter and spring, develop new skills and enliven your creative capacities in the company of fiber artists.
Starting with the fleece of two distinctive breeds of sheep – Jacob and Shetland – we will experience a transformative process from sheep to yarn through studying, washing, carding, and spinning.
Before the course wraps up, we’ll make small woven pieces with some of our hand-spun yarn, giving a hint of the creative possibilities of this special material.
Working with natural fibers, using ancient tools and techniques that dictate the pace of our work and draw us into an intimate relationship with our materials, we will find new meaning in the traditional fiber craft.
Fee: $295 (includes all materials)
