Eurythmy Spring Valley is delighted to offer two weeks of pedagogy for professional eurythmists on our campus in August 2022, embedded in our pedagogical training courses. Each course week will provide a different pedagogical focus and content for participants.
In Week One, you are invited to join Patti Regan, elementary grades eurythmy teacher at the Berkshire Waldorf School, as she brings a rich review and immersion into teaching eurythmy in early childhood through eighth grade. Our evenings will include a study of pedagogical themes and how to work with them in our teaching.
In Week Two, the course offerings will focus on eurythmy for grades eight through twelve. Please join Alexandra Spadea, high school eurythmy teacher at Rudolf Steiner School, New York City, and other faculty to be announced, for this exploration of the curriculum and ways of working with this age group. The above evening studies will continue.
Each course will provide a review of pedagogical forms and their relevance for the period of childhood being studied, as well as themes from the curriculum, especially adaptable for use in eurythmy. Beyond the work on this year’s themes within the eurythmy curriculum and child development, we will also have time to share materials with one another and discuss topics of current concern and interest. If participants have a eurythmy solo to share, it would be lovely to make time for sharing artistic work with one another.
We are holding these pedagogical courses for ESV students in training, but have found that it enriches the courses for everyone to have practicing teachers join the ongoing training as Refresher courses. So all are welcome!
