The Karma of Covid: What Is Covid Asking of Us?

With Harlan Gilbert

The third of three lecture/workshops. Please note: This workshop was previously scheduled for November 16, 2021.

The current pandemic is having dramatic repercussions on nearly every individual living today. It constitutes a major intrusion into world and individual destiny. In three evening workshops, we will explore the questions: Why a global pandemic, why this one, and why now?

Each workshop will include a lecture, group discussion, and Q&A.

Every challenge is also an opportunity for reflection and a stimulus to self-transformation. The present challenge is unusual in human history in that it is addressed to the entirety of humanity. World-scale challenges are becoming more frequent, however. Why are we facing global challenges, such as the pandemic, today, and what are they asking of us?

Also in the series: The Past, Present, and Future Karma of Corona Virus Disease-19 (February 1) and Covid and Medical Technology (February 8).

Harlan Gilbert holds a Waldorf teaching certificate from Emerson College, an MS in education from Sunbridge College, and a PhD in transformative studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Since 2003, he has taught mathematics, computer science, and philosophy at Green Meadow Waldorf School. He has published a book on child development and pedagogy as well as many articles considering technology and other themes from an anthroposophic point of view.
