In the late 1850s, the Austrian linguist Karl Julius Schröer collected and published the Christmas Plays of Oberufer, a cycle of Medieval mystery plays that had been preserved by residents of the village of Oberufer, near Bratislava. Members and friends of the Threefold Community are pleased to continue this ancient tradition with a lively crew of community players. The Shepherds Play depicts the birth of Jesus in a stable, where he is sought out by a group of simple shepherds.
