This time of year, when we are tired of winter, thinking about starting a garden is a wonderful, hopeful activity. At the studio we start seeds for our dye garden, located in the biodynamic Pfeiffer Center garden next door to us, in late March. Join Chris Marlow to learn about what plants you can easily grow to give you color not only in your garden, but also in the dye pot. We will plant seeds together and you will each go home with 12 planted seeds.
Our plan is to offer another workshop later in the spring for transplanting our seedlings and then an autumn harvest and dye session, both to be announced.
Chris Marlow has been Co-Director of the Fiber Craft Studio since 2012. Before that, she was a lower school handwork teacher at Green Meadow Waldorf School for 15 years with 2 years at a charter school in New York City, the West Side Community School. The FCS dye garden was started in 1997, within the biodynamic Pfeiffer Garden, and has been cared for ever since by the members and volunteers at the studio.
