Harvesting Late-Summer Colors

Loading Events

This workshop is an introduction to the dye plants and dyeing projects that are especially characteristic of the end of summer.

We will start the day harvesting flowers, leaves, and roots from our biodynamic dye plant garden. As we deepen our acquaintance with the plants and receive their beautiful colors, we feel the healing energy of the plant world.

Back at the Studio, we will dye a variety of natural materials with our harvest: silk handkerchiefs with fresh Japanese indigo, and organic cotton napkins, lightweight wool scarves, and linen squares with yellow, orange, and pink from flowers and roots.
