We will create indigo dye pots and explore dyeing felt from light to dark to experience the wonder of color transformation. We will also learn shibori with linen fabric. Join Miho Suzuki as we practice painting on paper first then paint on linen squares. This mat or coaster will be embroidered with plant-dyed silk threads in a seed stitch pattern. This is a virtual class.
At this in-person workshop, we will make a hand sewn wool felt slipper that can be made for child or adult, using a pattern based on tracing the foot. The resulting slipper is a lightweight slip-on, perfect as a travel slipper or for indoor wear.
Over the years, we have made some wonderful connections with local providers of fibers. At this free virtual event, we will share some of our resources with you and look together at the fibers that they offer.
