With its wonderful history and beautiful technique, this class is perfect for seasoned stitchers, as well as those taking their first steps into the world of hand quilting. Participants are welcome to use their own materials from home.
What if we thought of this as the most sacred of times. What have we gathered? What do we now know? We will use artistic and imaginative exercises to deepen our theme. And we will practice listening attentively, without judgment, while observing confidentiality with each other.
The 2021 Celebrating Handwork hybrid event is a great opportunity to showcase and learn about handwork and local fiber farms, with unique educational experiences for the whole family. Featured events and workshops will be offered both online and outdoors at the Fiber Craft Studio. An online festival sale will feature hand-made items from the Fiber Craft Studio.
Join Laura Montano, fiber artist and handwork teacher, for a morning at the studio exploring hand crafted jewelry out of plant dyed silk thread, fabrics and jewels.
Join Miho Suzuki as we practice painting on paper first then paint on linen squares. This mat or coaster will be embroidered with plant-dyed silk threads in a seed stitch pattern. This is a virtual class.

At this in-person workshop, we will make a hand sewn wool felt slipper that can be made for child or adult, using a pattern based on tracing the foot. The resulting slipper is a lightweight slip-on, perfect as a travel slipper or for indoor wear.
