Bring your clothes, fabric, or yarn to dye with indigo in the back yard garden at Orchard House.
In this course, which is open to beginners and experienced fiber artisans alike, we will design and sew garments using four natural fibers (cotton, linen, wool and silk) to create four items for a complete outfit.
In this workshop we will color silk, linen, and cotton fabric with plants from our biodynamic garden. Participants will take home a small silk pouch, a cotton drawstring bag, linen fabric, and wool yarn.

Making a hand-sewn cloth doll is a healing and therapeutic creative activity. The intention and care that go into the process, as well as the natural materials, combine to make the completed doll a special addition to any home, a healing gift for yourself or for a child.

We will create indigo dye pots and explore dyeing felt from light to dark to experience the wonder of color transformation. We will also learn shibori with linen fabric.
