With Judith Symonds. In this three-session course for beginners, we will use 12 x 16” lap looms to learn the what, why, and how of warp and weft. Students will complete several small projects, and acquire the skills needed to continue exploring tapestry weaving on their own.

The day will start with an end-of-season harvest of flowers, leaves, and roots from our biodynamic dye plant garden. Back at the Studio, we will dye a variety of natural materials with our harvest from the garden.

With Miho Suzuki. Develop new skills and enliven your creative capacities in the company of fiber artists. Working with natural fibers, using ancient tools and techniques that dictate the pace of our work and draw us into an intimate relationship with our materials, we will find new meaning in the traditional fiber craft.
Using the decorative star stitch pattern and organic merino yarn plant-dyed at the Fiber Craft Studio, we will create a long wraparound cowl with three colors. Workshop participants will select their three colors from a wide selection available at the Studio. The resulting piece will be soft and light, yet warming. This two-part workshop meets on Sunday, March 26 and April 2, 2:00-4:00pm.
