Weekly meetings of the Threefold Branch for 2021-22 will begin on Wednesday, September 1 at 8:00pm. This year, the Branch will take up the lecture series Anthroposophy, an Introduction. This cycle was given after the Christmas Foundation Meeting and Rudolf Steiner laid as it were a new foundation in the anthroposophical worldview, by not only describing the members of the human being, but also how we can become aware of this by raising our consciousness to the level of Imagination, Inspiration, and Intuition. A talk by Brigida Baldszun. How can we learn to recognize Ahriman? How can we ward him off? Examples from the Mystery Dramas and other texts by Rudolf Steiner.
In this course, which meets on ten Saturdays from September to May, we design and sew garments using four natural fibers (cotton, linen, wool and silk) to create four items for a complete outfit. Drafting simple patterns and sewing by hand gives us an opportunity for meditative work and a chance to center ourselves. Over the course of the year we experience different sewing techniques, plant dyeing, and embroidery as we create our own unique fabric for our garments.
Rudolf Steiner spoke about the Appearance of Christ in the etheric, and emphasized that it will be a tragedy if this event is passed by. Judith Brockway will explore some of the forces that are actively working against this significant event and how we can work to support their being overcome.
These events will provide a time to experience the extraordinary in the "ordinary." Each event will combine a time of quiet observation in small groups involving graphics, notes, sharing, and a time to experience the view of a hiker in the landscape.
