This cycle was given after the Christmas Foundation Meeting and Rudolf Steiner laid as it were a new foundation in the anthroposophical worldview, by not only describing the members of the human being, but also how we can become aware of this by raising our consciousness to the level of Imagination, Inspiration, and Intuition. A talk by Brigida Baldszun. How can we learn to recognize Ahriman? How can we ward him off? Examples from the Mystery Dramas and other texts by Rudolf Steiner.
In this course, which meets on ten Saturdays from September to May, we design and sew garments using four natural fibers (cotton, linen, wool and silk) to create four items for a complete outfit. Drafting simple patterns and sewing by hand gives us an opportunity for meditative work and a chance to center ourselves. Over the course of the year we experience different sewing techniques, plant dyeing, and embroidery as we create our own unique fabric for our garments.
Rudolf Steiner spoke about the Appearance of Christ in the etheric, and emphasized that it will be a tragedy if this event is passed by. Judith Brockway will explore some of the forces that are actively working against this significant event and how we can work to support their being overcome.
These events will provide a time to experience the extraordinary in the "ordinary." Each event will combine a time of quiet observation in small groups involving graphics, notes, sharing, and a time to experience the view of a hiker in the landscape.
Participate in the end-of-season harvest of flowers, leaves, and roots from our biodynamic dye garden, and experience dyeing natural materials. Feel the healing energy from the plant world as you receive the beautiful colors from nature.
This talk and conversation with Rev. Anna Silber will explore the role of religion for children, from the early years until the threshold of puberty and beyond. We will dive into the challenging questions of age appropriateness, morality, spirituality, and individual freedom.
Please join us for a free community workshop. Fiber Craft Studio Co-director Miho Suzuki will show how to make a pieced drawstring from fabric scraps. Fabric that was plant-dyed here at the Studio will be provided.
Sunbridge Institute’s Teachers Conference tackles the important task of uncovering racism in the Waldorf movement and identifying steps we must take to dismantle it.
Join us on September 25 to celebrate the farmers of the Pfeiffer Center and the Fellowship Community! They’ve been working hard all year to bring nourishing biodynamic produce to the community, and we invite you to enjoy the season’s harvest at our annual Farm to Table Benefit Dinner.
