    This year’s course will take place on one Saturday a month, over eight months. We will wash and card raw wool, learn how to spin on a spindle, and practice techniques for controlling the quality of the yarn. We will have a chance to dye some of our wool and create a small knitted or crocheted project.

    Friday, Oct. 9, 2 - 4 pm Visit the Fiber Craft Studio in Orchard House at the center of the Threefold Community campus! Get inspiration for your next handwork project and expand your creative capacities. Mini-workshops and special activities are scheduled. This Friday features a Dye Café using indigo to create variations of blue on an item of clothing. The cost is $4/ounce, 6 ounces maximum, natural fibers only please.     In this course, we design and sew three garments using natural fibers of cotton, linen, and wool, and make a shawl or scarf using silk to create a complete outfit. Drafting simple patterns and sewing by hand gives us the opportunity to center ourselves and practice a meditative way of working.
