Dr. Chuck Stead will present the research he has compiled on the local folktale of the Ramapo Salamander. Considered one of the earliest stories in association with the Dutch Iron Mining of the 17th century in the Ramapo Valley, this tale includes influences of Christian, Algonquin, and Angolan culture.
