Since the beginning of ESV's winter term, our students have been immersed in learning the diverse elements presented at each stage of the training. It is always remarkable to see the progressive levels of development and refinement fostered in our training, through watching our student presentations from the first class through the post-graduate year.

Three Workshops with Matěj Rybka We will explore the mechanics and dynamics of storytelling with a special focus on fairy tales: how to deliver a story to a listener in a living way with an imagination-filled power of expression, looking at the elements of the storytelling style, its musicality, rhythm, tone, voice production, intonation, phrasing, pace, and emphasis.
An informal litter clean-up gathering in Chestnut Ridge. We'll remove unsightly garbage along roadways, protecting our local waterways against litter, especially plastics, that enter our storm drains. Clean Streets = Clean Streams.
With Barbara Renold and Jennifer Kleinbach The Steiner School of Speech Arts offers one-week intensive blocks as an introduction to the artistic forming of speech through Rudolf Steiner’s exercises in articulation and breathing. 2023 Intensive dates are: January 2-7, February 20-25, and April 10-15.
A welcoming and safe community for parents with very young ones to share the joys and mysteries. Tea and light snacks are served for parents. Together, through our observation, we’ll learn to trust and respect the wisdom of our babies. We’ll also learn simple songs and games to strengthen the bond between a caregiver and a baby. Four in-person classes: April 11 and 25, May 9 and 12.
Grigory Smirnov, piano, will be joined by Christoph Grieder, cello, and other musicians.
Expectant parents as well as guardians or caregivers are welcome. With Rudolf Steiner’s Twelve Senses as our framework – and drawing deeply on our own inner resources – we will learn to trust and respect the wisdom of our babies. With regard to practical care, we will draw primarily from the approaches of Dr. Emmi Pikler and Madga Gerber (RIE). Four virtual classes: April 18, May 2, 16, and 30.

As one of the highest festivals of the word, the eurythmy performance of the Foundation Stone Meditation was first presented on Easter Sunday in 1924. April 20, 2023 marks the 99th anniversary of this Foundation Stone eurythmy “deed.”
With Keelah Helwig & Vicki Larson This workshop will define the ways many Waldorf school curricula center whiteness, use the frameworks of racial identity formation and biography work to better understand how we become who we are in a racialized society, and share practical tools, resources, and success stories with the goal of dismantling racism in Waldorf schools and communities.
This workshop with Mac Mead is for anyone who wants to start a vegetable garden, incorporating basic skills for new gardeners. Participants will walk away with the information and hands-on experience they need to get started this spring in their own garden.
Mark Finser is a student of Rudolf Steiner, a Green Meadow Waldorf School graduate, and a father of two children, one of whom is in the graduate fourth-year class at Eurythmy Spring Valley.
