A studio for teens interested in creating wearable garments while learning sewing techniques and pattern construction.

This class is designed for children in Grades 1–8 who would like to experience the rich handwork curriculum of a Waldorf school. Students will learn from experienced Waldorf-trained handwork teachers through an age-appropriate curriculum similar to that taught in Waldorf schools.

In this course, we design and sew three garments using natural fibers of cotton, linen, and wool, and make a shawl or scarf using silk to create a complete outfit. Drafting simple patterns and sewing by hand gives us the opportunity to center ourselves and practice a meditative way of working.

Children will gather each week to explore seasonal handwork, cooking, and nature-based activities inspired by the rhythms of autumn. Through hands-on projects, creative exploration, and shared experiences, students will develop practical skills, artistic confidence, and meaningful connections with their peers while celebrating the richness of the season.
